The graft is a small piece of tissue that is usually removed from the roof of the mouth and is placed over the root to attempt to prevent the gum loss from getting worse, which could ultimately result in tooth loss. It is a very minor procedure and the area heals quickly. When performing a graft, the earlier an area is treated, the better the chances are that the root can be covered. ![]() |
